Isabella Strahan Reflects on Life Before Brain Tumor Diagnosis: 'Was a Great Year Til It Wasn't'

Isabella Strahan reflects on her life before she was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

On August 10, the 19-year-old daughter of Michael Strahan posted a video on TikTok documenting how much she enjoyed her year before learning in October 2023 that she had large medulloblastoma — a type of malignant tumor.

“What are you thinking about?” the text over the clip reads.

“2023 life before getting sick,” she wrote before the clip shows her smiling while doing fun activities like visiting the beach, working out, going to NFL games, riding a mechanical bull and walking her dog.

“It was a great year until it wasn’t,” the model added in the description.

Isabella received numerous encouraging messages from her followers in the comments.

“So much life after this chapter closes ❤️you can do it all again and BETTER!!!! love you,” one person wrote, while another commented, “You’ll get there again. God has a plan for you ❤️”

After being diagnosed with brain cancer, Isabella underwent treatment at Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center in Durham, North Carolina, documenting her journey in her YouTube series.

She underwent six weeks of radiation, four rounds of chemotherapy and three brain surgeries. In a follow-up to her July 18 YouTube vlog, the model shared that she is officially cancer-free.

At the time, Isabella celebrated the milestone on Instagram, sharing photos of her cancer journey, including the moment she rang the hospital bell after finishing chemotherapy.

“After the craziest 8 months, I finally rang the bell. Grateful for my journey 🩶”, she wrote.

Strahan also praised his daughter for going through a difficult health journey.

“@isabellastrahan you are SUPERWOMAN! Ring the bell, finish the chemotherapy and go! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾,” Good morning America wrote the co-host, 52. “You keep fighting with a smile on your face, strength and determination. I am one proud dad! I love you Bella ❤️❤️”
