A massive manhunt has now been launched, with Metohia Police offering a £20,000 reward for information.

Police also revealed that they are investigating a sighting of Khalife shortly after he escaped from prison.

A member of the public saw a man resembling a terror suspect get out from under a BidFood delivery van which had stopped near the Wandsworth roundabout, at the top of Trinity Road.

This man was then seen walking towards the center of Wandsworth.

Commander Dominic Murphy, who heads the Met’s counter-terrorism command, said the “confirmed” sighting could be “very significant”.

He also urged Khalife to turn himself in as he said possible insight into the terror suspect was “one of several key lines of inquiry that officers are pursuing”.

The commander said: “My message to him is to surrender, either call us or go to your local police station and surrender.

“With the reward we’re offering today and the incredible support we’ve had from the public and the media, we’re going to get closer to you, Daniel, you really have to come in and turn yourself in.”

Khalife hid under a food delivery truck to escape while working in the prison kitchen on Wednesday morning.

He ran away wearing a chef’s uniform of a white T-shirt, red and white checked trousers and brown steel-toed boots.

A terror suspect thought he was using makeshift straps to strap himself to a truck as he was waved from the notorious zip line.

A massive manhunt has been launched for Khalife with security checks at UK airports and ports.

The Met has confirmed it has received more than 100 calls from members of the public and security at the UK’s borders has been stepped up as the search continues.

Mr Murphy said: “We continue to urge the public to contact us immediately if they think they have seen Khalife or have information about his whereabouts.”

The force also clarified the route taken by the delivery van that Khalifa used to escape.

Murphy said the truck exited the Wandsworth roundabout onto Swandon Road where it then turned left onto Fairfield Street.

It came after the Met confirmed it was looking for a seller who claimed to have seen Khalife on Wednesday.

A witness said he saw a “tall, thin guy” run under the bridge and into a black vehicle outside Wandsworth District Court.

A police spokesman said: “We are aware of a report of a shop assistant who believes she has seen Daniel Khalife.

“We are trying to identify this man so we can speak to him. We are urging him to contact us by calling 999.”

Meanwhile, a witness told The Sun Online that police today visited Sainsbury’s on Old York Road near Wandsworth Town station as officers try to monitor CCTV of Khalife’s movements.

They added: “The police were apparently in Sainsbury’s watching their footage.

“We had a lot of people in our shop but we didn’t have a CCTV camera facing the street.”

Khalife, who was attached to the Royal Corps of Signals before being discharged, was accused of leaving fake bombs at an RAF base in January.

He disappeared for more than three weeks after the bomb hoax before being arrested on January 26.

The second charge, under the Official Secrets Act, alleges that Khalife collected personal information about soldiers from a Defense Department computer system that could be useful to the enemy.

He was remanded in custody at Wandsworth Prison and was due to stand trial on November 20.

Anyone who sees Khalife is urged to call 999 immediately.
