Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s 2024 SAG Awards Glam Was All About The Winner’s ‘Beautiful Eyes’

Da’Vine Joy Randolph is taking home one trophy after another this awards season for her breakthrough role in the film The Holdovers.

And while film critics and moviegoers rave about her on-screen performance, we can’t stop talking about how gorgeous she looked on the red carpet, from her glamorous fashion choices to her flawless hair and makeup. The pro behind Randolph’s red carpet look is Lancôme global makeup artist Sheika Daley, who recently gave the star an “Old Hollywood” look to complement her Valdrin Shahiti pearl gown and Dauphin jewelry at the 2024 SAG Awards. “Da’Vine’s dress was is so airy, I wanted her to keep the same feel with her makeup but also wanted to emphasize her beautiful eyes. Her face has so many beautiful features and her eyes were the star tonight,” Daley shared of the look.

To create it, she lined her eyes with Lancôme Idôle pencil in glossy black, then applied Hypnôse 5-color eyeshadow palette in bronze absolu all over the lid. She added Elora Lane 3D “Michelle” Mink lashes before applying Hypnose Drama Mascara in Excessive Black to upper and lower lashes for a voluminous look. For lips, she used L’Absolu Rouge Intimatte Soft Matte Lipstick in 210 Unspoken Feelings with a swipe of Juicy Tubes Lip Gloss in 08 Tickled Pink for added shine.

Daley posted a video of Randolph heading into the ceremony that shows off the star’s head-to-toe look.

The actress won the award for excellent actress in a supporting role at the show. Opposing Emily Blunt for OppenheimerDanielle Brooks for PurplePenélope Cruz for Ferrari and Jodie Foster for Nyad.

As Randolph took the stage, Blunt was shown crying for her fellow nominee. Randolph, 37, began by telling the other nominated actresses: “Emily, Danielle, Jodie and Penelope: The fearlessness of your work and the grace with which you all carry yourself is such an inspiration to me. I am beyond humbled and so incredibly grateful to be counted among you.” Randolph then thanked those who did The Holdovers to life, including the Focus Features family, its president Peter Kujawski and screenwriter Alexander Payne “for your trust and your cooperation.”

“You really are every actor’s dream,” she continued before shouting her down Retention costars, Paul Giamatti and Dominic Sessa. “To Paul Giamatti and Dominic Sessa, thank you for your generosity and honesty. Grief is a slippery emotion to grasp and I thank you for creating an environment where I felt safe enough to explore the depths [my character] Maria. How lucky are we to do what we do? Indeed, in what other profession can people live so many lives and touch so many hearts of those they never got to know?”

“Every day I wake up overwhelmed with gratitude to be an active actor. To receive this from my fellow artists is the greatest honor of my career,” Randolph continued. “I also want to take this moment to say that every role I’ve ever played was conceived thanks to those who are nearest and dearest to me. Some of the most brilliant actors I know whose talents have yet to be properly recognized by the world.”

At the end of her heartfelt speech, Randolph had an inspiring message for her fellow actors. “To any actor who is still waiting for his chance, let me tell you, your life can change in a day,” she said. “It’s not a matter of if, but when. Go ahead. Thank you.”

On Sunday, the winner did a style 180 when she arrived at the Independent Spirit Awards, where she picked up the award for Best Supporting Performance, in a custom DaSh Gray and Alba trench coat and sunglasses.

Next up for the star is the Oscars on March 10, where she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress. She recently shared in an episode Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that he is looking for extra tickets to the Oscars.”Did you end up getting more tickets to the Oscars for your family? What’s going on with that?” host Andy Cohen asked her.

“If someone wants to contribute giving me an extra ticket which you may not need,” the actress said to the camera.

She added with a laugh, “I need five tickets.”

Randolph made her first comments about wanting to get a few more plus-ones in an interview with vanity fair published earlier this month.

“They tell me that I might just have one ticket to spare, so that’s my mission,” the actress said. “Can you imagine the people in your life who are, like, ‘I want to come!’ And you’re like, ‘And you you should come because you have helped me significantly in my life.'”

“If I can get five — I don’t care if my men are there [on the balcony], I don’t need five people in line,” Randolph added. “Get tickets to the Oscars or buy tickets to the Oscars, whatever we have to do – I have some family members who would be very upset, so I have to figure it out.”
