Dax Shepard Reveals He Cut Wife Kristen Bell’s Mom’s Hair: ‘I Gave Her a Whole New Look’

Dax Shepard has a hidden talent.

During the performance on Wednesday, September 4 at Late Night with Seth Meyers49-year-old actor and Armchair expert the podcaster told the show’s host that he has been cutting his hair “occasionally” since he was 12 years old. Shepard also revealed that he recently shared his hair cutting talent with his mother-in-law, Lorelei Bell.

“Kristen [Bell]My mother was visiting, my mother-in-law Lori, and I watched her all week. It’s not critical… I just thought, ‘This is not the right shape for her head,'” the Armchair expert said the host. “I said, ‘Would you be open to me giving you a new style?’ And I don’t know why she agreed to this, but I succeeded, I gave her a completely new look.”

After Lorelei returned to Michigan, Shepard continued, she reported receiving an outpouring of compliments on her hair.

“I promise you, I got at least 20 texts saying, ‘Oh my God, everyone at work says my hair looks great. It’s so wonderful,'” the comedian recalled. – As if it was a big, big hit.

Reportedly, the actor’s mother-in-law was so pleased with her new look that she wanted Shepard to be her exclusive hairdresser in the future.

“I figured she’d go to the beauty salon and say, ‘Do this again,'” Shepard said before shaking his head. “She thinks I’m her hairdresser now. So when she comes, she’s waiting [a haircut] and I say, ‘I only do new layouts. I’m giving you a new look and then I’ll never cut your hair again,’ he joked.

The actor said that he got his first clippers at the age of 12 and started cutting the hair of his classmates.

“I bought a little kit and started cutting hair in high school,” he told Meyers, 50. “Actually, [I] got into very, very big trouble.”

Mohawks, Shepard recalled, were his specialty. “It’s a very good starting hairstyle,” he said. “All these kids had these mohawks in the yearbook and their parents called the principal, and then the principal called my house.”
