The ending of that movie spawned a new universe, the Universe of Tomorrow. Now, the new animated shared universe may be coming to a similar conclusion, with the Justice League movie trilogy rebooting the universe rather than being a single movie.

The DCU will be made up of live-action and animated films, with live actors reprising their characters in the animated films and TV series.
