Tribute to Cooper as Spurs capture Brennan
Tottenham have completed a chaotic £47.5m deal to sign Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest.
Johnson, 22, signed a six-year deal in north London after leaving the club he joined at the age of eight.
Forest boss Steve Cooper paid tribute to Johnson following his departure, saying: “While we will obviously miss Brennan and the memories he gave to so many of us when he lit up The City Ground on the right wing, we are extremely proud of him and delighted that got this move as he enters the next phase of his career.
“Everyone knows how great he is on the field, but what many people don’t see is the kind, humble and sincere young man he is off it.
“He was always learning, always showed great humility and had a great nature in the way he interacted with his teammates and staff.
“All credit goes to his family, especially his mum and dad, Alison and David, who should be so proud of the amazing young man they have raised.
“Everyone will miss him, but he will always be red.”
