Deaths of twin boys, 2, & their big brother, 3, investigated as murder after all three bodies found next to dad’s

The deaths of three children whose bodies were found next to their father’s in a Surrey home are being investigated as homicides, police said.

Dominik Swiderski, aged three, Nikodem Swiderski, two, and Kacper Swiderski, two, were found dead along with their father Piotr Swiderski, 31, at a house in Bremer Road, Staines, on Saturday, August 31.

The boy’s mom, Angelika Swiderski, paid tribute to her sons as “happy, active children, full of life and happiness.”

Surrey Police and Sussex Police’s Serious Crime Team are investigating the children’s deaths as a homicide, Surrey Police said.

They added that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.

Police made a mandatory referral to the police watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), over previous police contact with the family, but the IOPC found earlier this week that no investigation into this previous contact was necessary.

Senior Investigating Officer DCI Kimball Edey said: “I would like to express my sincere condolences to the families of Dominic, Kacper and Nikodem for their loss.

“They will continue to be supported by specialist officers while our investigation continues.

“I would ask that their privacy be respected at what is an extremely difficult time for them.”

An inquest into the deaths of Mr Swiderski and the three boys will be opened and closed on September 10, police said.

The dismal discovery was made shortly after 1 pm by the emergency team, which then called the police to the semi-detached house.

Neighbor Shehr Sikandari said he heard the woman’s “horrific screams” shortly before police arrived at the scene on Bremer Road.

Mr Sikandari claimed it was a woman screaming before everyone came out to see what was happening.

He said: “We had breakfast outside around 10am. It was quiet and we didn’t hear anything.

“After 12 o’clock we heard some screams, and then the police came.”

Another local said: “It’s like a typical quiet town – you’d never expect it. It’s just a normal house in a pretty normal street in a really boring place.

“There’s nothing going on here – it’s a quiet little neighborhood.”

Neighbors described the family as “beautiful” and said the children were loved.

Mike Cresswell, 68, said of Piotr: “He seemed like a lovely guy but you couldn’t talk to him because he was always stressed.

“They were a beautiful family.

“The children were loved and well cared for.”

Another neighbour, 55, said the boys were “angels” and always looked “happy like Larry”.

DCI Gareth Hicks, who is leading the investigation, previously said: “This is a truly tragic incident and a thorough investigation is underway to establish exactly what happened.

“We would like to thank the local community for their support and understanding as we carried out our enquiries.”
