He is the founder and group CEO of Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India. Under his banner, Dhar produced the popular reality show “Bigg Boss”.

In February 1998, Deepak Dhar started working as a senior producer at MTV, which he continued until December 2001. After that, he joined Star Network in January 2001 as the team leader and worked until January 2006. In February 2006, he served as the team leader of Star Network. Creative Director of Endemol Shine India. Deepak Dhar and Rajesh Kamat founded Endemol India (later renamed Endemol Shine India in 2015) in 2006 from a small office in Andheri, Mumbai.
Young Deepak Dhar was producing a TV show. In the first week of Endemol India, Kamath gave Dhar a CD of the famous American TV show Big Brother and told Deepak to make such a reality show in India. Dahl then launched and produced the reality show Bigg Boss in 2006.
Later, Dar created a market for comedy shows and found talented comedians like Raju Srivastav and Kapil Sharma. Star India’s then CEO Sameer Nair supported Dhar’s comedy show.
In January 2008, he was promoted to the company’s Managing Director. That same year, Kamath went to work at Viacom18, where he founded a new television channel called Colors. Later, the TV show Bigg Boss started airing its next season on Colors. In April 2012, Deepak Dhar became the CEO of Endemol India. In 2015, Endemol India was renamed Endemol Shine India. He later resigned as managing director in December 2017. While at Endemol Shine India, he produced many shows and web series such as The Kapil Sharma Show (2018-2020), Anaamika (2014) for Sony Entertainment. On July 17, 2023, Banijay Asia Group announced the acquisition of Endemol Shine India. In the same month, Deepak Dhar started as Founder and Group CEO of Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India. As company CEO, he focuses on leading the group’s content strategy, partnerships, new businesses and alliances. Additionally, he worked on building the reputation of both companies.
