Deepak Niwas Hooda was born on Friday, 10 June 1994 (age 29; as of 2023) in Chamaria village, Rohtak district, Haryana. His zodiac sign is Gemini. He completed his studies at TFV Global School. In grade 12, Deepak decided to drop out of school and worked as a part-time teacher at the same school. In addition to his teaching duties, he was also committed to kabaddi, traveling to neighboring villages to practice, a commitment that contributed significantly to his skills. He then continued his college education and participated in the All India College Championships and won a gold medal.

In 2014, Deepak was instrumental in Haryana’s team winning gold at the State Senior Championships in Patna. In addition, he also contributed to the success of the Rajasthan Kabaddi team, helping them win the bronze medal at the 67th National Kabaddi Championships.

In the professional kabaddi league, Deepak’s journey has been remarkable. In 2014, he was acquired by the Telugu Titans for Rs 1.26 lakh, making him the second highest bidder of the season. During that time, he showed off his raiding skills, successfully completing 72 of 148 raids for a total of 89 points in 14 games. In 2016, he moved from Telugu Titans to Puneripartan and played in the third and fourth seasons, and was even named the Puneripartan captain in the fifth season.

In the sixth season, Deepak was transferred to Jaipur Pink Panthers for a huge sum of Rs 115 crore. He went on to feature for Jaipur Pink Panthers in the following season, scoring 55 runs in 155 games and scoring a total of 77 runs in 12 matches.

- Deepak lost his mother when he was just four years old. He too died when Deepak was in grade 12 while his father was taking care of him and his sister. This caused him to give up his studies and become the main breadwinner. He joined the same college where he studied as a teacher.
- Due to his teaching experience at a young age, Deepak revealed that if he hadn’t been a kabaddi player, he would have been a teacher.
- During the inaugural season auction of the Pro Kabaddi League in 2014, Deepak Hooda attracted a lot of attention and received the second highest bid. Telugu Titans bought him for Rs 1.26 crore.
