Delhi schools closed, likely to reopen on July 19
Delhi Schools reopening: According to the latest report, Yamuna water level has risen again after the rain on Monday, July 17, 2023. According to the official announcement made earlier, schools in Delhi Delhi is closed until 18 July 2023 due to high water levels in Yamuna. The Education Authority on Sunday announced that schools in the Yamuna border area will be closed until July 18.
According to reports, until Sunday the water level was supposed to recede, but since Monday the water level has risen to 206.01 meters. Although, according to the previous announcement, the schools were supposed to open on July 19, 2023, but still waiting for confirmation on this.
School holidays have been announced in the districts affected by the Yamuna rise, including East, Northeast, Northwest-A, North, Central and Southeast. All schools are government, state and private accredited in the remaining districts of the DoE – Northwest-B, West-A, West-B, South, Southwest-A, Southwest-B and New Delhi will remain open on Monday, July 17, 2023.
Principals of schools in these districts are allowed to organize classes in a physical or hybrid mode depending on the student.
Yamuna’s water level passed 205.48 meters on Monday morning, slightly above dangerous levels. The water level crossed the 205.33 meter mark on July 10, 2023. According to reports, if the water level continues to rise, it is likely that schools will have an extended holiday. An official announcement about this will be made soon.
Students, staff and parents should wait for orders from the respective DoE or school administration for any official confirmation.
