Demi Moore Offers Advice to Younger Stars at Chopard Dinner: ‘You Don’t Have to Do It Alone’ 

Demi Moore shares words of wisdom at the Cannes Film Festival!

The actress attended the Chopard Trophée Awards at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival on May 17. She served as Chopard’s designated godmother at the event and presented the evening’s rising star awards challengers Mike Faist and Talk to meis Sophie Wilde.

“I feel really lucky to have been chosen to be godmother to these two extraordinary talents,” she said. She then joked that in the US, “being a godmother kind of means you don’t have any responsibility,” adding that “you can give kids all the things that parents don’t allow, like candy and toys.”

Moore continued, “But really, that being said, I feel that you are both so successful and talented that I would argue that you don’t need anything from me and that you have all the resources within you to handle whatever comes your way.”

Shen then concluded by offering the two guests of honor his help in the future, “But as your designated godmother, remember that I’m not just here for the fun stuff, and you don’t have to do it alone.”

At the event, she wore a turquoise sequined Balenciaga dress with cone detailing at the hips and sparkling Chopard jewels to complete the look. Her Haute Joaillerie Collection necklace featured a 70.40-carat paraiba tourmaline and 43.38-carat diamonds set in 18k white gold.

Before the evening’s event, Moore hit the red carpet on Friday, May 17, for the film’s premiere Kinds of kindness. The actress wore a stunning red Giorgio Armani Privé gown with beading and floral detailing. Her floor-length dress featured a v-neck detail and intricate beading which she paired with Chopard earrings that matched the pattern of the dress.

The actress then styled her signature long, dark, waist-length hair with a sleek straight blowout.

Moore’s upcoming film Substance will premiere at the festival on Monday, May 20. The upcoming horror project also stars Dennis Quaid and Margaret Qualley.

While the film’s plot remains unknown, the official Cannes website provides an ominous description of the film, which reads: “Have you ever dreamed of a better version of yourself? You should try this new product: The Substance. It changed my life. With The Substance you can create another version of yourself, younger, more beautiful, more perfect… Just share the time. One week for one, one week for another. A perfect balance of seven days. Easy right? If you follow the instructions, what could go wrong?”
