The premiere date for Netflix’s all-new thriller series The Devil in Ohio has been announced. The limited series, based on true events and adapted from the book of the same name by Daria Polatin, reunites Bones actress Emily Deschanel for another stunning performance. The author Polatin is also the host of the series, executive producer and main screenwriter. The series will be produced by Rachel Miller and Andrew Wilder, Ian Hay and Jadene Stojak Babcock.

What is Devil in Ohio really about? Before release, the synopsis and trailer were researched.
The Devil in Ohio is a thriller about Mae, a young girl who seeks safety in the home of psychiatrist Dr. Suzanne Mathis. However, Mae’s arrival at the home quickly turns the family’s lives upside down as she tries to steal the life of Jules, Suzanne’s daughter. Jules then discovers that Mae has survived a bizarre cult in a neighboring town, and they would do anything to get Mae back. The following is the official Netflix synopsis for the series:
“When Dr. Suzanne Mathis, a hospital psychiatrist, takes in a fugitive from a mysterious cult, her life is turned upside down as the entrance of an unusual girl threatens to tear her own family apart.”
The trailer for The Devil in Ohio was released by Netflix in August 2022. The trailer teases the mysterious and dark tone of the series, and we see Suzanne meeting Mae and welcoming her into her house. The video also shows the criminal cult that Mae escaped from, and clearly hints that Mae may have been held as a human sacrifice. The tease also reveals the dangers Suzanne might face when the investigation begins. Furthermore, Mae seems to be falling in love with Suzanne and Jules, Suzanne’s child.
When will the series be released?
Devil in Ohio, a Netflix original, will be released on Friday, September 2, 2022. Since it is a Netflix series, all episodes will be released on the same day. Eight 45-minute episodes will be released. To watch the iconic thriller, fans must subscribe to Netflix, as the limited series will only be available on the streaming portal.
