His basketball career began with his brother. When Dhruv was in school, his brother often watched the Space Jam (1996) movie. His brother started playing basketball and he started playing basketball after watching him. He started playing basketball when he was 6 years old. As a child, he also played football and cricket, but eventually decided to pursue basketball. He went on to compete at the state level and won a gold medal in ninth standard. His basketball team in Delhi was the best and won almost all basketball tournaments. He continued to participate in national competitions but was unable to do so due to certain political issues. He then went to Canada and later formed his own team. He leads the league in three-point field goals. He returned to India in 2017, participated in 3BLague and won the championship, and then decided to stay in India and continue playing football. He is India’s number one FIBA 3×3 player. He is endorsed by Puma and is a Red Bull India Global All-Star. In 3Bleague’s 2nd season, he became the MVP of the 2nd round. Before 2019, he was a member of the Delhi Hoopers team. Delhi Hoopers is the main team in the first season of 3X3BL (India’s first professional 3×3 basketball league). They won five out of six rounds in their first season and went on to compete in multiple World Tour Masters events. Their outstanding performance even earned them the qualification to represent the alliance in the World Tour Finals in Beijing. He is also a member of the 3X3 Professional Basketball League. Not only this, he also played for Chandigarh Challengers.
