A statement from agent Shane Collins said: “I am saddened to say that Diane Langton passed away this morning.”
The Somerset star had a long screen career, including the 1975 TV spin off Carry On Laughing and the 1976 film sequel Carry On England.
She had a recurring role as June Snell – the ex-girlfriend of Del Boy (David Jason) – in the popular BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses, appearing in two episodes in the 1980s.
Diane also appeared in the Beeb soap EastEnders as Bev Williams and starred in The Bill and Heartbeat before joining the cast of Channel 4’s Hollyoaks from 2007 as Marlena ‘Nana’ McQueen.
She first left in 2009, but returned in 2012, before leaving again in 2023, only to return last year.
Supporting her incredible career, agent Mr. Collins commented: “Diane has had a rich and extraordinary career appearing on stage, film and television, including playing the iconic Nana McQueen in Hollyoaks from 2007 to present.”
He added: “Diane trained at the Corona Academy and began her professional career as a dancer, touring with ballet companies across Europe, followed by appearances on That Was the Week That Was and The London Palladium.”
