Renée Zellweger may have heard a cheeky rumor about Bridget Jones costar Hugh Grant, but she hands him the baton to confirm or deny!
Reflecting on some of his notable career looks in an interview with British on January 15th Vogueactress, 55, took a look at the wardrobe of perhaps her most iconic character, Bridget Jones — and found that Grant, 64, may still have a (slightly NSFW) piece from it.
When presented with one of Jones’ iconic looks — her “tarts and vicars” party ensemble from the first film in the franchise, Bridget Jones’s Diary – Zellweger said, “Oh, Bridget. God, that costume made me laugh out loud.”

The star went on to explain what it’s been like to reprise her role as the hilarious and drama-prone protagonist over the years in Bridget Jones: On the Edge of Sanity (2004), Baby Bridget Jones (2016), and recently, Bridget Jones: Crazy for a Boy. “It’s such an unusual experience to see a character again at different stages of her life,” she said in part, noting that it was “pretty special.”
Like Zellweger, Grant also reprized his Bridget Jones the role — flirtatious bond-lover Daniel Cleaver — since he starred in the initial 2001 romantic comedy, in which he pursues Jones and, during their first relationship, memorably describes her underwear as “absolutely huge.”
And the iconic underpants (which Jones herself calls “terrible stomach-holding pants, very popular with grandmothers”) may have gone with Grant after filming wrapped, Zellweger told British Vogue.

“I’ve heard some rumors that Hugh Grant has kept his pants on — big pants — but I don’t know if that’s true,” she said, before cheekily adding, “We’ll have to ask him.”
Grant and Zellweger shared the screen in the first two Bridget Jones movies, but Notting Hill The actor was absent in 2016 Baby Bridget Jones. In the upcoming fourth film, however, he will appear as Cleaver – in part because he took to “writing some scenes” for the character, he previously revealed.
While talking to Vanity Fair last fall, Grant discovered that in Baby Bridget Joneshe “really couldn’t fit my character — it just didn’t belong, so I backed out.”

Therefore, A heretic the star was overjoyed when they offered him to come back Crazy about a boy. “I loved the script – it made me cry and I wanted to help with this,” he explained. “But actually there’s no role for Daniel Cleaver at all. They wanted him in it and they ended up doing something I wasn’t crazy about.”
So he did something about it, he wrote new scenes for Cleaver that eventually made the final version. And although it “doesn’t work very well”, he still believes that it is the best Bridget Jones the movie still speaks Vanity Fair yes, “when you see the movie, you will be very moved.”
