Perhaps the ultimate combination of McAllister and Mondler has been discovered

A golden television Easter egg linking the fictional McCallister family of the Home alone and the cast Friends.

Earlier this week, an Instagram user named Scott Westwood posted an explanation on the platform with the theory that “Chandler and Monica from Friends moved to the house of the McAllisters from Home alone.”

In the clip, he combined footage from the 1990 film about a family who went on holiday, only to realize a little too late that they had forgotten one of their children at home, with footage of “Mondler” in their house — showing Home alone residence visible through their window.

The video has racked up an impressive 14.4 million views (and counting) since it went up, and even caught the attention of a user named Daren Janes, who said he was an art director for a New York-based sitcom.

“This is hilarious. You got me,” Janes commented.

“I was the art director FRIENDS & the house was expensive. The actors came in the front door, so we saw outside,” Janes continued. “We used support from Pacific Studios, which was made for Home alone because it looked best through doors and windows. Great eye my friend!!!!”

Although it was presented to the world in November 1990, the fascination surrounding it Home alone the house has stood the test of time. Last week, The The New York Times published a detailed breakdown of what it would actually cost the McAllisters to live in the huge house today.

The Winnetka, Ill., property was once offered as a one-of-a-kind Airbnb rental, complete with traps — just like Kevin threatened a pair of bumbling criminals in the cult classic holiday movie.

But according to financial experts who spoke with The New York Timesto actually live there in 1990, the McCallister family home could only be afforded by the top 1% of Chicago households, with an income of about $305,000 (or $665,000 in 2022).

In December 2020 morning show in Great Britain This morning spoke with Laura Abendshien — a former resident who was just 6 years old when her family’s home was used as a filming location.

Actors of ‘Home Alone’: Where are they now?

“We stayed in the house almost the whole time, which was about four or five months,” she said at the time.

She recalled Macaulay Culkin, who played Kevin McCallister, “[using] my study room with his teacher and his brother [Keiran]he didn’t record that much, so he would just hang out in my room.”

Abendshien said it came as a “surprise” how much of a hit her family’s home was decades later.

The same can be said for Friends two-room apartment that was turned into a rental space in 2021 in partnership with Booking.com.

The New York flagship is offering fans an overnight stay at “The Ultimate Sleepover at The Friends Experience” for just $19.94 — a nod to the year the sitcom aired.
