Daniel Michael Blake Day-Lewis was born in Kensington, London, England on April 29, 1957. His mother, Jill Balcon, was an actress but passed away in 2009, and his father, Cecil Day-Lewis, was a brilliant poet who died in 1972. Tamasin Day-Lewis is the only sister of Daniel Day-Lewis, and she works as a cook. Nicholas Day-Lewis and the novelist Sean Day-Lewis are two of his two half-brothers from his father’s first marriage. Daniel Day-Lewis attended Petersfield Bedales School and Sevenoaks School for his education. In addition, he spent three years studying at the Bristol Old Vic Theater School in Bristol.
