Dinesh Lal Yadav is a Bhojpuri singer, actor, producer and television host. He is best known as “Nirahua”. He is one of the famous actors of Bhojpuri Cinema, known for his films Nirahua Hindustani (2014), Nirahua Rikshawala (2014), Sangharsh (2018), Border (2018) and many more.

film career
He started his career in the film “Chalat Musafir Moh Liyo Re (2006)” in a supporting role alongside Kalpana Patowary and Sunil Chhaila Bihari.
He starred in Nirahua Rikshawala (2008) with Pakhi Hegde. The film became a box office hit.
His singing debut was with the song “Nirahua Phir Se Aail Ba Darbar E Mai”.
In 2001, he gained recognition for his songs “Budhwa Mein Dum Ba” and “Malai Khaye Budwa”. Dinesh Lal Yadav has worked in many successful films such as Nirahua Hindustani (2014), Patna Se Pakistan (2015), Nirahua Hindustani 2 (2017), Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi (2016) and Border (2018). In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he contested against Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav from Azamgarh constituency but lost. In June 2022, he won the Lok Sabha from Azamgarh constituency by defeating his nearest rival Dharmendra Yadav of the Samajwadi Party by 8,679 votes by-election. He contested from the Azamgarh seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections but lost to Dharmendra Yadav of the Samajwadi Party.

- During the release of Bhojpuri multi-starrer film Border (2018) starring Dinesh Lal Yadav, a man named Shashikant Singh Shashikant Singh sparked controversy by criticizing Nilawa and the film. Journalists even claimed that locals watched Border only because of the lack of tickets for Khesari Lal Yadav’s film Dulhan Ganga Paar Ke (2018). Dinesh seemed shocked by the reporter’s post and even shared a screenshot of the reporter’s post, asking for viewers’ support. Moreover, not just Bhojpuri celebrities but Bollywood celebrities like Rohit Shetty, Ranveer Singh, Ritesh Deshmukh and Boman Irani also extended their support to the film.
- In 2017, Dinesh Lal Yadav went to London to attend the Bhojpuri Film Festival. Nilawa reportedly behaved inappropriately towards a flight attendant while under the influence of alcohol. Other stars who were with him also helped solve the offended woman’s case. After receiving an apology from Nilawa, the woman decided not to report the incident to the police.
- It was on the sets of Bigg Boss Season 6 when Dinesh Lal Yadav had an incident with fashion stylist and reality show personality Imam A Siddique A fierce quarrel. Dinesh Lal Yadav, Imam A Siddique and Aashka Goradia live in a country house. Ashkar made a comment about the Imam, which led to a fight between the three. The imam wreaked havoc and was eventually kicked out of his home. Dinesh Lal Yadav later said that he had never seen anyone like Imam and if he had stayed in Big Boss for a little longer, Dinesh would have killed Imam.
