- In the 1990s, a Bangladeshi newspaper published an article about a baby girl whose parents abandoned her near a roadside trash can. In a report, they also spoke of the baby’s frail condition. Soon, local NGOs and government officials swung into action and rescued the child. This child is Dishani.
- When Mithun Chakraborty learned about the abandoned child, he decided to adopt the child. His wife Yugita also supported his decision. After completing all the legal paperwork, they eventually adopted her and named her Dishani.
