- Divya started practicing chess at the age of six. Before playing chess, she had played badminton, but had to switch to badminton because of her short height.
- Divya’s mother said in an interview that Divya became interested in chess by watching her father play chess. She was five years old when she won her first award.
- In 2021, she won her second International Master (IM) title at the Grand Masters in Budapest, Hungary, becoming India’s 21st female Grand Master (WGM).
- In March 2022, she became Nagpur’s first adult national women’s chess champion after Koneru Humpy who won the title in 2003. After winning the national championship, she shared her feelings, saying:
It’s hard to believe, but I have to believe it. I had zero expectations going into this tournament because I just wanted to perform my best. “
- In March 2022, the Maharashtra State Chess Federation awarded her a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh. 50, 000 to win the 47th Women’s National Championship of MPL held in Bhubaneswar.

Divya is a very talented and hardworking girl. Her playing prowess has been steadily improving, and her ratings have steadily risen as a result.
