Nuti Gatwa’s Doctor apparently shares the same memories as David Tennant’s Doctor, referencing everything from Sarah Jane Smith (Elizabeth Sladen) to the destruction of Logopolis And everything about the death of Adric (Matthew Waterhouse). So he does seem to have retained those memories and knowledge, but has managed to shed all the emotional baggage of pain and loss. Although the Fourteenth Doctor takes the time to show the Fifteenth Doctor how to operate the TARDIS, it feels like he’s struggling to function and find something to do once his successor arrives.
However, since double generation is a completely new concept, it’s possible that the Fifteenth Doctor has forgotten something. The Doctor, played by David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa, separated the Fourteenth Doctor’s costume, so it’s possible that not all memories were transferred.This will be refreshing doctor who In the Ncuti Gatwa era, the time traveler is once again on the back foot, learning and reacting to every new situation instead of being the somewhat insufferable know-it-all he was in previous incarnations.
