DONALD Trump was the target of a possible third assassination attempt by a “lunatic” who had two guns and fake IDs in his car, a sheriff claims.
Vem Miller, a 49-year-old resident of Las Vegas, was arrested by police while trying to enter the former president’s rally in Coachella, California on Saturday.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco said at a news conference Sunday that he believes Miller planned to kill Trump at the rally.
Deputies stopped Miller at an interior checkpoint — a mile from the rally — around 5 p.m. local time.
Miller was driving a black SUV that Bianco said had false “domestic” plates and was not registered.
Officers noticed that the car was “in disarray” and the false plates led them to further investigate the interior of the car.
Inside the car, deputies say they found a shotgun and a loaded handgun — guns they claim Miller did not legally possess.
They also found multiple passports and multiple driver’s licenses, each with different names.
Bianco claimed at the press conference: “I probably had deputies who prevented the third assassination attempt.
– Thank God we prevented it.
Trump had yet to arrive, and sheriffs say there was no danger to his life.
Miller was arrested on two weapons charges – possession of an unregistered firearm and possession of a high-capacity magazine for a handgun.

He was released from custody on a $5,000 bond on Sunday.
Speaking to the local press after his release, Miller insisted he had no intention of harming the former president.
He told the Southern California News Group, “These allegations are complete bullshit.
“I am an artist, I am the last person who would cause any violence and evil to anyone.
“I’ve literally never fired a gun in my life.
“I don’t know anything about guns,” he added.
A criminal verdict on the alleged murder will be brought by federal authorities, Sheriff Bianco said.
Both the FBI and the Secret Service are investigating.
Sources told the New York Post that the Secret Service believes it is unlikely that Miller planned to kill Trump and that the FBI is not investigating it as an assassination attempt.
The sheriff has accused Miller of being a “lunatic” and believes he is part of a “far-right” anti-government group called Sovereign Citizens.

Sovereign citizens are a group that does not believe they are subject to laws unless they consent to them.
The sheriff said Miller tried to enter the rally saying he was a reporter and was stopped before credentials were confirmed.
Miller claims to be an “investigative journalist” and “documentary filmmaker” about politics, according to his LinkedIn.
He has previously shared footage and pictures of meetings with high-profile figures such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jordan Peterson, Russell Brand and Nigel Farage.
One clip shared on X shows him walking past Donald Trump Jr. at what appears to be the 2024 Republican National Convention.
Bianco said, “I can tell you that none of the other probably 50,000 people who showed up yesterday brought multiple different passports with names and guns.”
Miller was involved in right-wing politics and ran for the Nevada state assembly in 2022 and lost.
He also appears to own a California CBD company and has promoted conspiracy theories and misogynistic rhetoric online.
His social media shows photos of him with a number of right-wing political celebrities, including Donald Trump Jr., QAnon Shaman, and RFK Jr.
The Secret Service believes it is unlikely Miller was trying to kill Trump and the FBI is not investigating it as an assassination attempt, the New York Post reported.
But Bianco doubled down on his opinion at a press conference when asked if it was attempted murder.
“If we’re so politically lost, that we’ve lost sight of common sense and reality and reason that we can’t say, ‘Shit, why did he show up with all this stuff?’ …
“And I’m going to be accused of being dramatic? We have a serious, serious problem in this country. Because it’s common sense and common sense.”
Right-wing documentarian and TV personality Mindy Robinson spoke out in defense of her friend Miller on Sunday.
On X, she wrote: “The man who was just arrested for allegedly ‘trying to kill’ Trump at Coachella… is my good friend and America Happens business partner, Vem Miller.
“There is no universe where his intent was to kill Trump, he was working too hard in this movement to expose the Deep State and all the people against him.
“It doesn’t even make sense why his passes would be fake too when we’re both usually invited as media to these things.”
She claimed he was targeted because of an “anti-Deep State documentary” the pair worked on together.
Trump spoke to several thousand people at a rally held at Calhoun Ranch in Riverside County.
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco also spoke at the rally.
Speakers were forced to stand behind bulletproof glass at the rally because of two previous assassination attempts on Trump earlier this year.
A little over a week ago, Trump returned to the site of the first assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Trump promised that he would never give up, “even in the face of death.”
He joked: “A big thank you to Pennsylvania.
“We love Pennsylvania, and like I said…”
The man who allegedly attacked Trump on his golf course in Florida has been charged with attempted murder.
Suspect Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was denied bail at a court hearing Monday — hours after prosecutors cited a letter offering $150,000 to “get the job done” as evidence why he should be kept under lock and key pending trial.
Routh was originally charged with two federal firearms offenses, but the upgraded charges reflect the Justice Department’s assessment that he planned to kill Trump.

Timeline of the assassination attempt on Trump
July 13 – Thomas Crooks shoots Donald Trump in the ear after hiding on a rooftop overlooking the former president’s outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Crooks was killed by Secret Service snipers after firing eight shots at Trump, killing one rally attendee and wounding two others.
The bullet came less than a quarter of an inch from hitting Trump’s head, said Ronny Jackson, the former president’s physician.
September 15 – Ryan Routh was seen by a Secret Service agent hiding in the bushes with a rifle at the Trump International Golf Club in Florida.
Trump was playing a round of golf when the alleged would-be assassin managed to get within 400 yards of Trump.
Routh fled the scene in an SUV, but was caught and arrested by officers.
October 12 – Riverside County Sheriffs believe Vem Miller tried to enter a Trump rally in Coachella, California with the intention of killing the president.
They stopped him at the perimeter before Trump even arrived and booked the 49-year-old on two weapons charges.
Sheriff Chad Bianco said federal officials will investigate Miller for the alleged assassination, but he believes his deputies stopped a “third assassination attempt.”
