When it comes to swearing, Donny Osmond insists his mantra has always been like father, like son.
Sitting down with PEOPLE, the singer (65), who has five children and 14 grandchildren with his wife Debbie, to whom he has been married for 45 years, admits that he has never uttered a single curse word in his life. “Never. Because I never heard my father swear,” he told his father’s magazine, George, in this week’s issue.
“He was tough, but he never swore. Obviously I’m still thinking about the words! There are certain people I’d like to say certain words to at certain times, but I just think, ‘Be like your dad.'”
Osmond, who just extended his stay at Harrah’s Las Vegas through May 2024, spoke to PEOPLE for One Last Thing:

Last perfect day off today. I have a secret garden. It’s my oasis. I have my own little vineyard, orchard. I just went out and got a handful of raspberries, came in and called you.

The last thing I learned about myself was how to balance my life. I was a workaholic, but I didn’t plan anything so that I could take my wife, children and our 14 grandchildren on a boat trip. I’m a grandfather this weekend.
The last game I played I play Sudoku every day on my phone. I only work hard and bad, never medium. I am a learning sponge.

The last thing I do before going on stage is to pray. I always remember one show where my brothers and I ran on stage, and there were two people in the audience. So, every time I see a packed house, I have an attitude of gratitude.
Osmond is now performing a solo residency at Harrah’s Las Vegas through May 2024.
