Dorit Kemsley reported on her position with Kyle Richards.
Entering the 14th season The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The reality stars’ friendship has been rocky, leaving fans wondering if they can ever mend it. Kemsley is now speaking to PEOPLE about how she’s dealing with their differences and what viewers can expect from the new season.
“You get to a point in your life, especially when you decide to publicly separate from your husband after being together for 13 years, married for nine. I got to a point in my life where I started to feel like I was coming into my own,” explains Kemsley. “And my problems with Kyle didn’t start at the beginning of the season. They happened, and I didn’t vote [them]. There were a lot of things left unsaid on both sides.”

“I wasn’t going to calm down or go into the season or any conversation with Kyle and not deal with a lot of the things that have been bothering me that have happened over the last year and two years,” she added.

Kemsley confirms that she and Richards — who are both dealing with divorces from their husbands — are in a better place than they were in the Season 14 premiere, and she’s excited for people to watch it happen.
“I think it’s really great to see the journey as well, because it’s a beautiful thing,” she notes. “And that’s certainly something that made me always hope at the beginning of the season that Kyle and I would be able to work through our issues and come out on the other side. I was afraid we wouldn’t be able to solve our problems the way I needed them to. And I needed that change.”
“I need both of us to hear the other and appreciate what they were saying,” Kemsley continues. “I needed Kyle to accept and take responsibility for certain things. And then a friendship worth fighting for, that I believe we have, I will fight for. But I’m also a really good friend and I want to feel like I’m fighting for a friendship worth fighting for.”

The premiere showed Richards and Kemsley facing off as they saw each other for the first time since their reunion last season. When Kemsley confronted Richards about her comment saying they weren’t close friends outside of the series, calling it “the tip of the iceberg”.
“I’m sick of feeling thrown around, used, whatever you want, thrown away,” Kemsley said. “[I was] made me feel like I have to question whether we’re friends at all.”
“How can you say that?” asked Richards.
The episode ended with “to be continued” after Kemsley said she was “fed up” when Richards asked where her anger was coming from.
