Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury claims to be an Indian medical nutritionist. His credentials and medical claims have also been questioned.

He was born in 1974 in Haryana. In primary school, he was an average student. In 1994, at the age of 22, he enrolled in Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh, to pursue a bachelor’s degree in production engineering. Later, he changed his field of study and turned to nutrition and health. In 2005, he also tried Bollywood but failed as an actor.
He later specialized in lifestyle medicine at Harvard Medical School, and subsequently studied at Cornell University, where he reportedly developed the “DIP diet” that reverses diabetes in 72 hours.
Dr. Chowdhury runs centers in India, Vietnam, Malaysia and Switzerland. He is also known as the “Memory Master”.

- In 2006, he set a Guinness World Record for memorizing 14 names and birth dates in less than two minutes.
- In 2007, he set a Guinness World Record for doing 198 push-ups in one minute.
- He also holds the Guinness World Record for developing the world’s longest pen in 2009, which was 12 feet long and weighed 10 kilograms.

- Many doctors said Biswarup had made “distortions and misrepresentations” of medical facts.
- He is often called a pseudoscientist and a quack.
- After the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, he was embroiled in controversy for claiming that he had a cure for the coronavirus, which modern doctors claimed was misinformation. In April 2020, he was invited by the media channel Lallantop to talk about the cure for the coronavirus, which caused a huge controversy as his theory was questioned and refuted by editor-in-chief Saurabh Dwivedi and other doctors.

- He also acted in the Bollywood film Yaad Rakhenge Aap (2005). However, his acting career did not last long.
