Dr. Mike was born Mikhail Varshavsky (age 33; as of 2022) on Sunday, November 12, 1989, in Saran, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) (now Russia) Sk. His zodiac sign is Scorpio. Mike came to the United States with his family when he was six years old. According to him, his father decided to move them to the United States due to rising anti-Semitism in Russia. After completing his formal education in 2014, Mike served as a resident physician at Atlantic Healthcare System from June 2014 to June 2017. In January 2016, he began serving as President of DM Operations. In February 2018, he was hired by Atlantic Healthcare System as an attending physician. In November 2021, Mike was criticized for hosting a birthday party in Miami where guests, including Mike, did not wear masks. He was criticized not only by his followers, but also by bioethicist Arthur Kaplan, director of the Division of Medical Ethics at NYU Langone Health. Arthur said in an interview that Mike was not a good role model for his followers and that he should be criticized for blatantly violating the epidemic norms set by the government.
