Drag Queen Alexis Stone Nailed Every Detail in Uncanny Miranda Priestly Transformation for Balenciaga Show

Miranda Priestly made a sensation at Paris Fashion Week. More precisely, her double is.

British makeup artist and drag queen Alexis Stone pulled off another incredible transformation, arriving at the Balenciaga Couture show as Meryl Streep’s iconic character from the 2006 film. The devil wears Prada.

Stone turned heads at a Paris Fashion Week event dressed head-to-toe as a fictional magazine editor. She wore a dark brown satin shirt with a kitty bow, a black pencil skirt and a dark raincoat. For accessories, Stone added black leggings, black pointed-toe heels and black gloves.

Of course, Priestly’s trademark sunglasses were also included, as was a replica “book”, i.e. a mock-up of the fictional magazine the character oversees. Stone carried a prop under her arm, as Streep does in her inaugural scene in the film.

But Stone’s short, gray wig and flawless prosthetic makeup sealed the deal. Recreating Priestly’s signature hairstyle and Steep’s facial structure was a painstaking process, all documented in a YouTube video posted by the dear artist.

In the behind-the-scenes footage, Stone carefully places the prosthetic parts on her face before applying makeup. She puts on the corset before putting on the costume and putting on the wig. The video ends with Stone taking to the streets of Paris filled with photographers and onlookers who seem stunned by her transformation.

Stone became known for her unusual transformations into widely known celebrities. In the past, she has worn realistic outfits to impersonate megastars like Barbra Streisand, Jessica Lange and Lana Del Rey. In February 2023, she transformed into Jennifer Coolidge during Milan Fashion Week. Using make-up and prosthetics, she perfectly replicated the actress’ facial expressions and mannerisms.

Stone walked the red carpet as Coolidge in a full Diesel outfit that consisted of metallic cargo jeans, a matching metallic biker jacket, a sparkly blue tank top emblazoned with the Diesel logo, pointed-toe heels, and the brand’s viral 1DR bag.

On the show, Stone sat next to Haley Lu Richardson, who starred in the second season of the show White lotus along with Coolidge. In the anthology series, Richardson played Portia, the personal assistant to Coolidge’s character, Tanya McQuoid.
