Drake Bell Says Seeing Josh Peck Stay Sober Is ‘a Big Inspiration’ for His Own Recovery

Episode Days Peck’s 27. March Good guys Podcast, hosting with Ben Soffer, former Drake & Josh The Costaers, both 38, talked openly about their fights for drug abuse and the recovery that followed. Podcast marked the first time that the couple re -united from 2024 Silence on the set The documentary premiered, in which Bell spoke of sexually attacked by Nickelodeon’s coach Dialog Brian Peck (without a relationship with Josh) when he was 15 years old. Later, he eventually brought Bell to use drugs and alcohol.

In 2004, Brian Peck declared that he did not compete with an oral copulation with a minor under the age of 16 and a permanent act with a 14- or 15-year-old in connection with the case. He was sentenced to 16 months in prison and received a mandate to register as a sex offender. After serving his sentence, he was released from prison in 2005.

He then asked, “Did you go somewhere to do any of this?”

Bell said that in 2023 he went to rehab in Nashville. When Peck asked him what took him to that point, Bell replied, “I think it was simple, like, exhaustion and only it was nowhere else to turn around, just feeling like a rat in the cage. It’s just like I can’t do it.” The actor also faced legal issues at the time.

When Peck pointed out that Bell was going through this process publicly, Bell recalled that he knew he needed to survive, but he didn’t know how to do it himself.

“Oh, everything was public, man. I mean, it’s just crazy. It’s hard. I just got to the point I was in, I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to do it. Like, this is just something I don’t know. I know how to survive,” he said. “I’ve done that all my life. I feel like I just needed to survive.”

Bell admitted that he did not know how to be a father and work again in acting. When he arrived for rehab, he was unwavering that no one knew what he was going through there.

“When I got there, I left, it was like this battle where I was hit and screaming,” he admitted.

Bell said that once he arrived at the facility and filled the entry forms, he could take a deep breath for a long time, and that slowly became a reformation experience. Bell also opened for his 12 -step program and how he managed to get motivation from watching a stamp.

In the first part of the Podcast, which was broadcast last week, Peck revealed his personal struggles during and after Drake & Joshincluding a loss of 100 pounds and sober at 21.

“I just spent four years as a total cliché,” he said that as a teenager he addressed drugs and alcohol. “I think the most handsome or corrosive moment of my life was the first time I had tried drugs and I was 17 years old. I lay in bed that night and realized what a great moment I had that night.

In 2008 he became sober.

Speaking to Bell on Good guys, Peck said he was still struggling to reconcile the happiness the show brought fans with his feelings about that time in his life.

But there is also the truth of everything you went through and all that was … just an experience for a child who was unacceptable in so many ways and you struggle with this idea.
