Dramatic moment brawling Ryanair passenger on flight to Tenerife ‘slaps steward’ before ‘tourist punches him in nose’

THIS is the dramatic moment a mid-air brawl broke out on a Ryanair flight – resulting in a steward being slapped and the perpetrator punched.

A man was filmed causing a disturbance on a flight from Liverpool to Tenerife which caused the plane to be diverted to Santiago.

The dramatic flight had to make an emergency landing after the crew called the police on the passenger on July 4.

The footage shows staff attempting to control the troublemaker as he reaches into the overhead cabin.

The robber then pulls his hand back before appearing to slap one of the flight attendants across the face as other passengers watch in horror.

Just a few short seconds later a passenger sitting opposite the action seemingly bizarrely punched the troublemaker directly in the face.

All in shock, the staff reinforce their defenses with the help of fellow passengers and eventually bring the robber to the ground, the video shows.

A passenger who claims to have been on the affected flight said on Facebook that a man had caused the chaos and that Ryanair staff handled the situation “professionally”.

The user also claimed the troubled passenger was “drunk” and tried to dangerously light cigarettes on the plane – leading to a fight.

According to Spanish air traffic controllers, officers met the plane in Santiago de Compostela, on the Spanish mainland.

On X, ex-Twitter, controllers confirmed: “The crew of a flight from Liverpool to Tenerife south contacted us about a conflicted passenger on board and had to divert to Santiago de Compostela.”

Police ran into the Ryanair Boeing 737 on the runway, as did medical professionals after it made an emergency landing.

It is not clear if any arrests have been made following the incident.

Ryanair told The Sun: “This flight from Liverpool to Tenerife (July 4) was diverted to Santiago after a passenger became disruptive to the flight.

“The crew called the police in advance for assistance and the aircraft was met on arrival by local police who removed this passenger before this flight continued to Tenerife.

“This passenger has since been banned from flying with Ryanair.”

Similarly, another Ryanair “flight from hell” had to be diverted just 36 minutes after a “mass brawl” broke out between passengers in the air.

Shocking footage shows tourists screaming at each other across the plane as frantic airline staff try to calm them down at around 30,000ft.

A passenger on an evening flight from Agadir to London Stansted on Wednesday said an argument broke out between two families during boarding.

It started when the man, believed to be in his late 20s, asked another passenger to move so he could sit with his wife and young children.

The woman, who was sitting with her own daughter, allegedly refused to move – prompting the robber to start threatening her.

The flight took off without a hitch, but as soon as the seat belt signs were removed, the passenger’s husband, believed to be in his 30s, allegedly jumped to his wife’s defense.

The two men reportedly threw punches as Ryanair staff tried to intervene.

A Briton on the flight, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “They were trying to punch each other. One of the families was part of a larger group, so other travelers began to join her.

“Then a lady in the row behind started having a panic attack because of everything that was happening. She screamed and the children cried. It was like a snowball effect.”

The 36-year-old finance worker from Herts added: “We were only in the air for 36 minutes before we had to land unexpectedly. It was so stressful.

“It was like an escape from hell. And everything escalated from that one passenger who wanted to change seats.”

When the plane landed in Marrakesh, it was met by the Moroccan police, who ejected nine people involved in the waste from the plane.
