Drew Barrymore Gets Hair Makeover by Chris Appleton on Her Show: ‘I Like Big Hair and I Cannot Lie’

Drew Barrymore has a new job!

On Monday, the daytime TV host, 48, went from flirty waves to voluminous hair thanks to hairstylist to the stars, Chris Appleton.

The Charlie’s Angels alum invited Appleton, 40, and Riverdale actress Camila Mendes for a makeover segment on The Drew Barrymore Show.

After a brief introduction of her guests, the host said she had “some fun questions” that were stored in “wonderful old Velcro curlers.”

Just before the makeover began, Barrymore started pulling out her hair extensions during the live stream as she asked Appleton what his plans were for the ladies. “I think I’m going to do both of you,” the UK-born stylist said of their makeovers.

“As you take whatever it is apart — I’m interested to see what comes out of it,” Appleton told Barrymore as he walked over to start with Mendes, 29.

“A lot,” the presenter joked as she removed pieces of hair.

While Appleton began to style Upgraded actress for a simple “day to night” look, grabbed a bright yellow roller and removed a sheet of paper from inside.

Complementing Mendes’ cheekbones and face, Appleton said the style he chose for her would accentuate her features. Before reading her question to the studio audience, she revealed that she likes the “playfulness” of having several pieces of hair hanging in front of her face.

“Would you prefer your date to be 15 minutes earlier? Or 15 minutes late?” Mendes’ first question was:

“I’m 15 minutes late, because I’m usually 15 minutes late, so then I won’t feel guilty when he shows up,” Mendes replied after a brief pause from all three.

Barrymore chimed in, saying that the date might be “dissatisfied” if they show up 15 minutes early and still have to wait an extra 15 minutes.

Appleton chimed in with her “sweet and simple” style, adding a black bow to Mendes’ half-up look with her hair down before switching to Never been kissed star.

While the ladies discussed their 5-minute makeovers, Appleton worked on Barrymore’s mane.

Flawlessly tucking her bouffant hair into her reddish-brown locks, Appleton parted Barrymore’s real hair down the middle in the front, giving 50 first dates alum a bow of her own.

“Big hair is back and if anyone can do a big hairdo, it’s you,” the stylist told her.

“I love big hair and I can’t lie,” Barrymore said, lightly quoting Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back.”
