Dua Lipa Just Made Her ACM Awards Debut – With Chris Stapleton!
The “Dance the Night” singer, 28, shocked the crowd at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas on Thursday (May 16) by opening for Stapleton’s performance of “Think I’m in Love with You.” The country star then joined Lipa on stage as they harmonized a soulful duet, playfully riffing off each other’s vocals.
Recalling a backstage performance with Bobby Bones, Lipa revealed that she and Stapleton, 46, had “talked about” their secret duet for a while, adding: “It was my idea.”
“I’m a fan of Chris’s,” she continued, “and I kind of reached out and said, ‘Hey, do you want to do something together?’ And this happened.”

The “New Rules” artist added, “I feel so lucky to have been in Chris and Morgane’s orbit for a few days, just like diving into the musicality of it all.” It was just wonderful.”
Stapleton also praised the Grammy-winning pop star, saying, “The duo is kind of the queen of feel-good music.”
During the 2024 ACM Awards ceremony, Stapleton took home awards for Male Artist of the Year, Artist-Songwriter of the Year and Album of the Year for his project higher.
He was also nominated for the prestigious Entertainer of the Year award alongside Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Morgan Wallen and Lainey Wilson, who eventually won.

Meanwhile, Lipa is coming out with the release of her third studio album Radical optimismwhich was dismissed on Friday, May 3. The “Don’t Start Now” pop star’s appearance at the ACMs is one of several genre surprises this year, as Post Malone, Avril Lavigne and Gwen Stefani also joined in to perform at the ceremony’s lineup.
The 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards are broadcast live on Prime Video from the Ford Center at The Star in Texas.
