Dulquer Salmaan is an Indian actor, singer and entrepreneur who works primarily in Malayalam cinema. He is known for his role as “Charlie” in the Malayalam film “Charlie” (2015). He is the son of famous actor and producer Mammootty.

Dulquer Salmaan was born on Monday, July 28, 1986 in Cochin, Kerala (age 37; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Leo.
He attended Toc-H Public School, Kochi and Sishya School, Chennai. He studied at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, USA, where he studied for a bachelor’s degree in business management (BBM). Dulguet became interested in directing at an early age. He made short films when he was 14-15 years old. He often plays with his father’s camera. After graduation, he worked as a business manager for a well-known company in the United States. Thereafter, he engaged in IT-related business in Dubai. Later, Dulgai enrolled in a three-month acting course at Barry John Acting Studio in Mumbai.

Dulquer Salmaan was born into a Muslim family. His father, Muhammad Kutty Paniparambil Ismail, also known as Mammootty, is a popular Indian actor and producer. His mother Sulfath Kutty is a housewife. He has an elder sister Kuti Surumi.
Dulquer married architect Amal Sufiya on December 22, 2011 in an arranged marriage. The couple has a daughter, Maryam, who was born on May 5, 2017.

Dulgai made his acting debut in the 2012 Malayalam film “Second Show”, playing the role of Harilal “Lalu”. The film won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Next, he appeared at the Ustad Hotel as Faizal “Faizy”. Durgai entered the Tamil film industry after the commercial success of ABCD: American Born Confused Desi and Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi. He made his Tamil film debut with the romantic comedy Vaayai Moodi Pesavum.

In 2014, he starred in the romantic drama Bangalore Days, which ranked among the highest-grossing Malayalam films. The following year, Salman appeared in the commercially successful Tamil film O Kadhal Kanmani. Later, he played the lead role in the romantic drama “Charlie” and received critical acclaim. The film won him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor.
Dulgai made his Bollywood debut in 2018 by starring in the road movie “Karwan”. He plays the role of Avinash in the film. In 2019, he starred opposite Sonam Kapoor in the Bollywood film “The Zoya Factor”.
Apart from being an actor, he is also a singer and has sung in several songs such as “Johnny Mone Johnny” from the Malayalam film ABCD: American Born Confused Desi (2013). Durgai was also a philanthropist and participated in many social service activities. He has acted in a short film based on the Safe Ride Campaign of the Kerala Motor Vehicles Department. He was also part of the Chennai Gives initiative, donating 150 items including clothes, shoes, books, school supplies and crockery.
Additionally, Dulquer owns a dental chain and a car trading portal in Chennai. Salman is the director of Mother Hospital in Bangalore.
