Mark Withers, actor best known for playing Ted Dinard in the original Dynasty series, he died. He was 77 years old.
His daughter Jessie Withers told Diversity that he died on November 22 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
“He faced his illness with the same strength and dignity he brought to his craft, creating a legacy of warmth, humor and commitment, along with his extraordinary ability to make any role memorable,” Jessie told her father’s newspaper.
“Mark’s enduring talent and dedication to the industry will be fondly remembered by colleagues, friends and fans alike,” she added.
A representative for Marko did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on December 7.

Mark spent four decades in the television industry after landing his fiery role in the late 1970s.

Later, he had roles in newer series as well, such as True Blood, Criminal Minds, The Castle and Stranger Things.
Mark last appeared on screen in two films released in 2019, according to IMDb.

In the early days of his career, an agent helped Mark land acting roles in commercials for companies such as Folger’s Coffee, Tartar Control Crest and American Airlines, per Diversity.
Mark is survived by his wife, Haiyan Liu Withers, and a daughter. They requested that all donations in his memory be given to the Children’s Research Hospital St. Judas.
