He went on trips with his wife, including to a safari park, and showered her with gifts.
And he supported a charity associated with her work, helping to organize fundraising events for free.
Eamonn has never mentioned her name on social media and it is understood that Eamonn’s wife Ruth, 64, was unaware of their relationship until recently.
Sources say Eamonn treated his close friend to a Beyonce concert, a visit to Center Parcs last year and tickets to watch his favorite team, Man United, at Old Trafford.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Ruth was clearly aware that her marriage was falling apart, but as details emerged, her upset turned to anger.
“Eamonn’s friend is delighted to shower him with attention and kindness.”
The woman met Eamonn via Twitter after commenting on the post and it sparked a conversation.
Since then, especially in the last 12 months, they say they have become closer friends.
Friends say the woman’s counseling skills include dealing with “feelings of grief” and “separation and divorce”.
A source close to Eamonn said: “She works for a charity that Eamonn is involved with from time to time.”

The Sun broke the news on Sunday last weekend that Eamonn and Ruth had separated and were in the process of divorcing.

Cracks began to appear in the relationship of the popular duo, who co-hosted ITV’s This Morning until 2021, and were not photographed together for two years.
The Sun also told Sunday that Loose Women presenter Ruth had confided in close friends that there was “no going back” for the marriage.
On Tuesday, Eamonn spoke about their break-up on the GB News breakfast show he hosts, thanking viewers for their support.
Ruth recently helped nurse Eamonn back to health after a medical scare that saw him spend some time in hospital.
During a discussion on Loose Women last month, Ruth admitted that she wouldn’t mind so much if her husband left her for the 25-year-old.
She said: “The worst is if he left with someone the same age. That’s my biggest fear.”
The Sun approached Eamonn for comment on Sunday.
