EASTENDERS star Dean Gaffney was injured after being run over by £70million Chelsea star Wesley Fofana on a night out.

Dad-of-two Gaffney suffered a broken collarbone after being “catapulted” into the air when hit by the player’s Lamborghini.

He was treated in hospital before being allowed home while £230,000-a-week Fofana was breathalysed at the scene on King’s Road in Chelsea, west London.

The French international centre-back, 23, passed the test and was cleared to travel as he was found not to be at fault for the accident.

Gaffney, 45, only found out later that Fofana was the driver, while sources said the player was “unaware” of the I’m A Celeb star’s identity.

A source said: “It was a nasty accident and Dean said afterwards that he was lucky to be alive and counting his blessings.

“He had just left a nightclub and was trying to get into a black cab when the Lamborghini hit him in the center section and catapulted him into the air.

“He was out and all his friends were very worried. The ambulance relieved his pain and he was patched up in the hospital.

“He did not know who the driver was at the time but was later told it was Wesley Fofana. Dean is a Brentford supporter and joked about the star of the rival club killing a well-known supporter of their neighbors!”

A source said Gaffney, who played Robbie Jackson in the BBC’s Eastenders, never spoke about the accident in December 2022 because there was “no fault” and “it was nobody’s fault”.

A spokesman for Gaffney declined to comment.

Representatives of FC Chelsea and Fofana did not comment.
