Eddie Jackson Will Host A New Food Network Show Called “Outchef’d”

We can’t stop watching Food Network Outchef’d’s new competition series. The show will feature a number of skilled, unwitting chefs who will come to “audition” only to be surprised to learn that they will be competing with world-class experts in the field.

Former NFL player Eddie Jackson, now a personal chef and personal trainer, will recommend Outchef’d. Eddie is known for making nutritious food look good, so his audience doesn’t need to “cheat” a day. He has been on several Food Network series as a judge and presenter.

Eddie Jackson’s lifelong love is cooking.

Eddie Jackson, born 1980, was signed by the Carolina Panthers as an untrained free agent in 2004 after beating the show with his outstanding athletic ability at the University of Arkansas, where he earned a degree in business administration and administration. Eddie is a four-time All-American national track and field athlete. He still holds the freshman record of 110 high hurdles.

Eddie played for the Miami Dolphins from 2005 to 2006, however, he was put on the bench because of a torn ligament in his knee. In 2007, Jackson signed a two-year contract with the New England Patriots for which he received no signing bonus. Despite earning more than $1,500,000 in both years, the Patriots fired him that same year. After taking a break from sports, the Outchef’d manager bought his own food truck, because cooking was his longtime love. He also participated in MasterChef Season 4 and placed seventh. Eddie joined the world of Food Network in 2015 when he participated and won on the hit show Food Network Star.

As a reward for his huge success, he was given his own 6-episode show to stream online. Eddie is currently hosting the Kids BBQ Championships after serving as a judge on Clash of the Grandmas and Chopped. He also runs The Rose Hill Beer Garden, where eight food trucks take turns serving delicious meals to consumers.

More about Outchef’d

Under the guise of an audition, Outchef’d will welcome outstanding home chefs, who will be required to prepare a dish to rival a world-class chef.

The Food Network summary for the program states:

“These home cooks are thriving in their kitchens, but do they have what it takes to compete with an elite expert in the culinary war?”

Both chefs will be instructed to prepare a meal using a signature dish, and host Eddie will select six street patrons to blindly sample the dishes. Home chefs can win $5,000 if they get just one vote out of six who rate their dish. On Thursday, September 27 at 10 p.m. ET, Food Network will air Outchef’d. The special two-part premiere will also be on Discovery+ on the same day.
