Eddie Murphy supports son Eric Murphy’s relationship with Jasmin Lawrence, daughter of Martin Lawerence — and is already predicting the next generation.
In an interview with CBS Morning on Tuesday, July 2, Eddie, 63, told Gayle King that he and his ex Boomerang The costar thought it was “cool” that their kids were in a relationship.
“They’re both beautiful,” Eddie said. “They look amazing together. And it’s funny [because] all [asks], ‘What’s that kid going to be funny about?’ ”
“Only our gene pool will make this funny baby,” he continued. “If they ever get married and have a child, I expect the child to be funny.”

Martin, 59, shared a similar sentiment about his possible grandson in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live! back in June 2022. He joked about the couple having a “comedy super-baby” at some point.
Martin also revealed that he and Eddie “don’t interfere in their business… and respect their own business.” He later joked that he was “going to try to make Eddie pay” for the wedding.

In a separate interview with the Canadian outlet Etalk in February 2023, Eddie responded to Martin’s comments, saying, “It doesn’t work that way.” “My daughter just got married and I had to pay – I really had to pay,” he said. “You must do the same, Martin.”
