Penn Badgley and Brittany Snow Haven't Gotten a 'Call' for a John Tucker Must Die Sequel amid Reports

Penn Badgley and Brittany Snow talk for about a second John Tucker must die movie.

Speaking of Badgley’s podcast Crushed in the episode aired on July 3, the actors — who starred alongside each other in the 2006 teen comedy — revealed that they had not been contacted about a sequel despite reports that it was in the works.

“Penn, I don’t know if you got the call, but I didn’t,” Snow, 38, said after the topic of whether the reports were true was raised.

The Your star, 37, then replied: “Yeah, I didn’t have a call, no.”

“I mean, it might be possible as a superposition of quantum physics, like everything is potentially within a field, like, maybe this apple will fall, I can’t really say for sure,” he added.

Snow then said that she and actress Arielle Kebbel – who played Carrie in the film – had been talking about a sequel for years “because she was trying to get it off the ground”.

“But I didn’t know what happened, and I kind of just said, ‘go ahead.’ Hmmm. You know? ‘Go ahead with it,’ she added. “The last I heard she was trying to make it happen, and I guess she did.”

PEOPLE reported in March that a sequel was in the works 18 years after the film’s release. This comes after the film’s mastermind Metcalfe, 45, revealed at Epic Cons Chicago that he would “definitely love to be a part” of another film.

“I’ve heard rumors about this scenario — there is a scenario,” he said. “It’s obviously amazing,” he continued, adding that he “can’t wait to read it.”
