Edie McClurg, an American actress, has been accused of elder abuse by a man who claims to be her “longtime friend” while she suffers from dementia. According to court records obtained by TMZ, star Ferris Bueller’s conservatorship officials claimed that a guy named Michael L. Ramos posed as a friend of the actress and tried to fly her out of Los Angeles to marry her. In that case, the court ordered the guy in question to give up his intention to marry the 77-year-old actress.
Documents believe Ramos, who lives with McClurg, is unemployed and “intruded” his ideas into Edie McClurg’s life, despite being aware of her mental state. According to the Mayo Clinic, dementia is a generic term used to describe a group of symptoms that impair a person’s memory, thinking, and reasoning skills enough to interfere with their daily activities.
Edie McClurg’s “boyfriend” is also accused of assaulting her carer.
According to court records obtained by TMZ, Ramos sexually assaulted McClurg’s caregiver, and the case was filed with the Los Angeles Police Department. The carer also claimed and expressed concern that the guy, who is not in a romantic relationship with Edie, may have sexually assaulted her, but she doesn’t know because of her dementia. A judge allowed Michael Ramos to live with McClurg for companionship, but her lawyers have now asked the court to remove the man from her home. On Monday, Angelique Cabral appeared in California Superior Court in Los Angeles County on behalf of the veteran actress.
According to People , a protective order filed by McClurg’s attorney against Michael L. Ramos has been granted. Ramos is expected to appear in court for the next hearing on August 25. In February 2019, the actress’ family filed for custody in court, claiming she was living with a verbally abusive guy who was trying to get his hands on her property by tricking her into signing legal documents.
According to the New York Post, the couple met in 2012 or 2013. Edie McClurg began her career as an actress in the 1974 television series Tony Orlando and Dawn. Since then, she has appeared in a number of films and television shows, including The Kallikaks, The Richard Pryor Show, Oh, God! Book II, Harper Valley PTA, Pandemonium, No Soap, Radio, Madame’s Place, The Dukes, The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries, The Jeffersons, The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, Small Wonder, Snorks, Valerie, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation . Her most famous parts are Ferris Bueller’s Free Day, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles and Back to School. She was recently seen as Nurse Jane in Timothy Zwice’s drama Eye Upon Walking.
