Edward Furlong Said That He Is Sober After Years Of Drug Addiction And Legal Problems

After a long history of drug use and legal problems, Edward Furlong recently announced that he has been clean for four years. When asked about his addiction to the news source, he said it started when he was young and not many people were looking for him at the time. Furlong stated that he started with weed, beer and mushrooms before being exposed to cocaine and heroin in his twenties. He went on to say that he was on drugs, drinking and partying, and that he suddenly felt like he was among people and somehow fit in.

After having his first child with Rachael Bell in 2006, the actor said he stopped using heroin. But two years later, Bella filed for divorce, and Furlong was accused of introducing his child to cocaine. Bella finally served Furlong with a restraining order. His ex-wife Monica Keena accused him of domestic abuse in 2012 and he was sentenced to 180 days in jail.

Although he had several notable roles in several films, his career plummeted as his drug use increased. He used to abuse heroin, meth and DMT, and once overdosed. He said that in 2016 he was detained while under the influence of an illegal narcotic drug. Edward Furlong was reportedly sentenced to six months of treatment and spent a year at Wavelengths Recovery in Huntington Beach. Furlong added that he now has a great bond with his child and that people love him more.
