As it turns out, “Luck Be a Lady” for Edward Preble!
After coming close to elimination during Vote With a knockout on Tuesday, November 12, Preble got a second chance thanks to Reba McEntire.
Preble, who was previously on Team Bublé, performed Judy Collins’ “Send in the Clowns” for the Knockouts round. He was up against fellow contestants Shye and J. Paul.
“Edward, my amigo, my taller double. We stand on the shoulders of our heroes my friend. Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, I can go down,” Bublé, 49, told Preble.

He continued, “I love that you’re quick to find your way and adapt and most of all you have a good soul. All the crew that hangs out with you backstage would always say, ‘Wow, that kid is such a sweet kid.’ ‘”
During feedback from other coaches, McEntire expressed interest in Preble — but never said outright who he would choose to keep on his team if it were up to her.
“Edward, you fascinated me from the very beginning. For you to be still in your teenage years, you are such a mature soul. Well done, I’m absolutely delighted,” said McEntire (69).
Then, when Bublé announced that he was going to keep Shye, Preble was a good sport about it.
“Honestly, I think you made a great choice. She has a great, amazing, powerful voice and I can see her going very far in this competition,” he said.
And just as he was about to hug Bublé goodbye, McEntire hit his final steal button with a big smile.

“I wasn’t expecting you. Are you serious? You’re so cute,” he said as he hugged McEntire.
In a one-on-one, McEntire said she “loved Edward from the very beginning.”
“He’s a character. He’s got a great sense of humor and there aren’t that many people who embrace that genre of music, but when they do, they’re passionate about it, and you see that with Edward,” the “It’s Your Javi se” singer said. “He’s going to be fun to work with.”
During his one-on-one, Preble said he was “over the top” and jumping up and down with excitement.
Vote airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC at 8:00 PM ET, with episodes available to stream on Peacock the following day.
