Paramedics at Toughsheet Community Stadium showed multiple bright yellow jackets rushing to the stands with stretchers before performing CPR.

At 15:47 the stewards carried down the stairs and placed a light blue sheet.

After that, several stewards ran off the field with a stretcher a minute later.

In a public announcement, supporters were asked to stay where they were until a decision was made as to what would happen next.

Players and staff from both teams were ordered to leave the field after the incident, which occurred around 30 minutes into the game.

It was later announced that the fan was in critical condition and that he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Because of this, the officials decided to stop the game after the 33-minute stoppage.

A Bolton statement said: “Due to a medical emergency in the crowd, today’s game has been postponed. Our thoughts are with the family concerned.”

Cheltenham echoed this in their own statement, saying: “The thoughts of everyone at Cheltenham Town Football Club are with the individual involved and their loved ones at this time.”

This is the second time in the EFL this season that such an incident has occurred.

In early October, Leyton Orient’s home game against Lincoln was abandoned in the 82nd minute for the same reason.

The following is information about the state of the fans.

Bolton went into Saturday afternoon’s game looking to leapfrog Portsmouth into first place with 51 points from 24 games.

Meanwhile, Cheltenham were looking to pick up vital points as they aim to avoid relegation, having picked up 23 points from 25 games.

On the other hand, the clash between Reading and Port Vale was called off following a pitch invasion in protest against the Royals’ owners.
