Eka Lakhani (34 years old; as of 2022). She was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Eka is an Indian fashion designer and stylist. In 2005, Eka joined SNDT (Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University) to study fashion design course. Later in 2008, Eka moved to New York where she joined the Fashion Institute of Technology to hone her skills. While she was in New York, she also worked for a magazine, writing about high fashion. A year later, Eka returned from New York and joined her mentor Sabyasachi Mukherjee as an assistant costume designer for Mani Ratnam’s film Raavan in 2010. Mani Ratnam was impressed by Eka’s work in the film Raavan and signed her. Became the main costume designer for his next film Kadal. Eka Lakhani has worked with directors like Rajkumar Hirani and Karan Johar. She has dressed celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Kiara Advani and Aditi Rao Hydari. Apart from Bollywood, Eka has also worked in South Indian films. Later in 2019, Eka established “Team E”, which includes experienced designers who work on various projects under her supervision. The first project Team E completed was Madras Talkies in 2020.

In 2010, Eka Lakhani returned from New York and joined Sabyasachi Mukherjee as an assistant costume designer on Mani Ratnam’s film “Raavan”. Later, Mani Ratnam signed Eka as a full-time costume designer for his next film Kadal as he was impressed by Eka’s work. Eka Lakhani has acted in many Bollywood movies such as Nh10, Ok Jaanu, Soorma, The sky is Pink and Sanju. In addition, she has also appeared in web dramas such as “Lust Stories” and “The Queen”. Apart from Bollywood, Eka has also worked in South Indian films like “Urumi”, “Ok Kanmani”, “Kaatru Veliyidai”, “Iru Mugan” and 2020’s “Ponniyin Selvan”. Eka also participated in the songwriting of AR Rahman.
