Elden Ring: How To Enter The Consecrated Snowfields Without The Secret Medallion

Experienced travelers in Elden Ring will doubtless know of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, the Key Item used to activate the hidden mechanism of the Grand Lift of Rold, which unlocks the Consecrated Snowfields. Similar to the Medallion for the Grand Lift of Dectus, two halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion must be reunited to complete this endeavor. Players can find these pieces during Latenna the Albinauric’s questline or on their own accord. However, this feat is far from easy, requiring Tarnished adventurers to defeat Commander Niall, one of the most challenging stronghold bosses in the game.

Fortunately, there is an alternative way of reaching the Consecrated Snowfields in Elden Ring without collecting either half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion or visiting Castle Sol in North Mountaintops of the Giants. This method is known as the “Stake of Marika Skip” since it uses a Marika respawn effigy as a means to completely bypass the process of unlocking the Hidden Path to the Haligtree.

Nevertheless, this exploit still requires Tarnished pilgrims to gain access to the Mountaintops of the Giants region. Of course, players have figured out a crafty way to use Torrent to fly above the Lands Between and reach the mountainous region without even entering the Grand Lift of Rold. This approach is separate from the Consecrated Snowfields Marika Skip, requiring different techniques and exploitative processes. Accordingly, most Elden Ring fans will still need to defeat Morgott, the Omen King of Leyndell, to acquire the Rold Medallion from Melina.

Consecrated Snowfields Stake Of Marika Skip In Elden Ring

Starting from the Zamor Ruins in Mountaintops of the Giants, Tarnished adventurers must make their way to the northern cliffsides of the region that borders the Consecrated Snowfields. To reach this area, players must traverse the great overpass leading to the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins. After arriving at the frozen river, travelers must head downstream instead of conventionally going towards the Freezing Lake. After a brisk ride, they’ll soon get to the Shack of the Lofty, the hut where the Traveling Maiden Set can be found.

Next, Tarnished must approach the edge of the giant ridge overlooking the Consecrated Snowfields to the west. From here, Elden Ring players need to take a leap of faith, jumping down into the valley below to their death. However, if their body landed along the elevated hill where the Minor Erdtree sits, they will receive the option to revive at a nearby Stake of Marika instead of their previous Site of Grace. This option will teleport them to a statue in the northwest, allowing them to skip the Secret Medallion process entirely in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
