A hectic Elden Ring mod lets players summon a random assortment of Spirit Ash allies, bringing pandemonium to any battle. While it can be challenging, FromSoftware’s open-world title gives players many tools to help them overcome foes throughout the Lands Between. Many fans agree that Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring can be an invaluable ally in a tough fight, but one mod potentially makes them much more powerful.
Given to the player’s Tarnished character by Ranni the Witch, the Spirit Calling Bell is used to summon various Spirit Ashes found throughout Elden Ring. These cooperative spirits take a variety of forms, ranging from ancient warriors to magical jellyfish to packs of animals. Spirit Ashes can make a dramatic difference in any fight, though the game’s balance is maintained because they can only be used in certain areas. Modders have naturally taken it upon themselves to make Spirit Ashes even stronger, giving the Tarnished an even greater advantage. One Elden Ring Spirit Ashes mod lets the Tarnished summon a massive Mausoleum, for example, while another turns the game’s bosses into Spirit Ash allies.
Another Elden Ring mod from Twitter user king_bore_haha lets players summon a ragtag army of Spirit Ashes to join them in combat. The modder has created multiple Spirit Ash mods, but the Summon Randomizer is perhaps the most chaotic. Using the Spirit Calling Bell summons a collection of random spirits, ranging from a hapless enemy soldier to an intimidating Valiant Gargoyle boss. The helpful crew is able to immediately crush foes in king_bore_haha’s video, though unlucky players could presumably find themselves joined by a meager collection of weak mobs instead. The Summon Randomizer will reportedly be released for free after testing.
The Summon Randomizer created by king_bore_haha can lead to easy victory, but one Elden Ring Spirit Ash is already an indispensable game changer. Elden Ring’s Mimic Tear Spirit Ash actually lets the player summon a copy of their own character, creating an unstoppable team-up of two Tarnished. The Mimic Tear is considered by many fans to be the best companion in the game, since the player’s character is likely stronger than any other available Spirit Ash. Acquiring this powerful tool requires that players locate the Eternal City of Nokron and defeat themselves in combat.
Spirit Ashes can give any Elden Ring player an edge in combat, but the Summon Randomizer adds some hilarious uncertainty to the mechanic. Getting lucky lets the Tarnished bring friendly bosses into the fray, but useless early-game foes can show up instead. While the mod is still being tested, king_bore_haha’s Summon Randomizer will likely spice up any player’s Elden Ring experience.
Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
