It’s Elizabeth Banks’ time to shine.
For the premiere of her latest film on Tuesday, August 13, Skin careactress, 50, stepped out in New York wearing a silver dress with a sequined neckline. Her mini dress included a variety of sequins that increased towards the bottom, and she completed her look with a pair of black leggings and an oversized black blazer.
Banks accessorized with a pair of black pointed-toe pumps and a silver baguette bag that matched her dress flawlessly. She kept her hair loose, wavy, while her makeup brought drama with deep purple lipstick and soft pink eye shadow.

The actress was also seen in the same flashy ensemble when she visited the The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday. But she didn’t take off her blazer for that performance, focusing all eyes on the sparkling dress.

IN skin care, Banks plays a celebrity esthetician named Hope Goldman who’s at the top of her game until she’s rocked by scandal when her email is hacked—apparently by a rival esthetician who just moved to town.
The film also stars Lewis Pullman, who plays Hope’s friend Jordan, as well as Luis Gerardo Méndez, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez and Nathan Fillion. Directed by Austin Peters Skin care based on a screenplay he wrote with Sam Freilich and Deering Regan.
While Skin care is a fictional story, part of it is actually based on truth. Former beautician to the stars Dawn DaLuise was cleared of involvement in a murder-for-hire plot after she was arrested in 2014. (DaLuise said she was considering legal action against the film.)
Going into the project, Banks said she was unfamiliar with DaLuise’s story.
“I didn’t know that at all. I’d never heard of it. I was just totally into Hope Goldman and this character and sort of the LA milieu,” she told Entertainment Weekly in July.

The The Hunger Games The alum said her inspiration for the role came from a facialist she saw in real life named Matty.
“I had the Hope Goldman character in my head, because she had her own little place on 3rd Street in LA, and she was recommended to me by an agent—Johnny Depp’s agent—who said, ‘Well, Johnny went to Matty’s,’ and listed other clients who went to Matty.”
“So when I read the script, that’s what I thought,” she continued. “I thought, ‘I’m going to base it on Matty.’ ”
Skin care it’s in theaters on August 16.
