Ellen DeGeneres Cancels 4 Summer Stand-Up Dates

Ellen DeGeneres canceled several shows less than a month after she was fired Ellen’s Last Stand…Up tour in June.

Ticketmaster issued an “event cancelled” message to ticket holders for DeGeneres’ shows in Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle and Chicago, which were scheduled for dates between July and August.

“Unfortunately, the event organizer has had to cancel your event,” the page says. “You don’t have to do anything. We will issue a refund to the original payment method used at the time of purchase, as soon as the funds are received from the event organizer. It should appear in your account within 14-21 days.”

In addition, Ticketmaster notes that if the ticket was purchased by someone other than the ticket holder, “the refund will go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster.”

The canceled dates are July 10 in Dallas, July 21 in San Francisco, July 23 in Seattle and August 11 in Chicago, according to Ticketmaster.

No other details were provided for the cancellation.

PEOPLE reached out to DeGeneres’ reps for comment, but they did not immediately respond.

Dates for the 66-year-old comedian’s 27-show North American tour were announced at the end of May. According to a post shared with PEOPLE at the time, the dates will be the “last chance” to witness DeGeneres in her “final curtain.”

Earlier that month, PEOPLE announced that DeGeneres’ upcoming Netflix special — set to film Aug. 16 and 17 in Minneapolis — will be her “last.”

Robbie Praw, vice president of stand-up and comedy formats at Netflix, praised the former talk show host’s talents in a press release, saying “there’s no one like Ellen.”

“She is a true legend and a pioneer in many ways,” concluded Praw. “We can’t wait to bring fans another of her hilarious comedies later this year.”

DeGeneres previously announced her 2018 special It is connected with streaming service.

Her return to comedy follows her May 2021 announcement explaining her decision to end her self-titled talk show after its 19th season.
