Ellen DeGeneres Says 'Friends' Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Adopted One of Her Chickens

One of Ellen DeGeneres’ chickens has come home to roost — with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

Bullied by his co-workers after suffering a fibula injury, one of DeGeneres’ many feathered friends had to be rehomed.

Luckily, her friends Harry and Meghan agreed to take him in, the former TV presenter revealed in an Instagram post on Saturday.

“Sinkie’s leg was fixed but our chickens were still teasing her so she had to be rehomed,” former The Ellen DeGeneres Show – wrote the host (65) with a photo of a black and white bird.

“Luckily, our friends Harry and Meghan’s coop had room for one more,” she said, adding: “I’m not sure what her royal title will be yet.”

Sinkie will be the latest bird to join the residents of “Archie’s Chick Inn,” the name of the chicken coop owned by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their eldest child, 4-year-old Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Meghan, 42, and Harry, 39 — who also share daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor — gave a glimpse of the feathered residents of their California home during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

During their chat with Winfrey, 69, viewers didn’t see the couple’s nine-bedroom mansion, but they did see the “Chick Inn” chicken coop on their Montecito property, which is filled with hens rescued from factory farms as part of their “down to basics” life. .

“Hi girls!” Meghan told the chickens as she opened the coop door and added, “I just love saving.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Harry revealed that he loves living in California, especially when he has “outdoor space where I can go for walks with Archie and we go for walks as a family and with the dogs.”

“The highlight for me is putting him on the back of the bike in his little child seat and taking him for a bike ride something I never got to do when I was young,” he added.

A few months after Lilibet’s birth in June 2021, Meghan suddenly appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show — which ended in May 2022 — to provide another update, this time about the newest addition to her family with “Aunt Ellen.”

In the episode, DeGeneres revealed that “Lily is teething now,” prompting Meghan to put her hands up to her mouth and say, “Anything to lighten it up.”

“Tequila, anything,” the talk show host said, to which Meghan jokingly replied, “That’s your Aunt Ellen.”

The host joked: “That’s why I don’t have children.”
