Ellen DeGeneres embraces her gray hair.
Former host The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently moved back to Montecito, California, and was seen sporting gray hair on January 14 after growing out her signature blonde curls.
DeGeneres, 66, and wife Portia de Rossi moved to the British countryside in late 2024 after finding “a house she loved,” a source told PEOPLE in November. After moving to England, it was revealed that the DeGeneres welcomed the hair transformation along with her new place.
Now that she’s back in America, it seems the look is here to stay.

DeGeneres first showed off her mane change in November. In a joint Instagram post by British pub The Farmer’s Dog and singer-songwriter Natalie Imbruglia, DeGeneres could be seen enjoying intimate live music with her husband and friends.
The clip showed Imbruglia and friends singing along to the music before walking towards DeGeneres and de Rossi, 51, who waved to the camera. Instead of her signature platinum blonde hair, the comedian sported a shorter, darker look, likely her natural color.

DeGeneres and de Rossi moved to the Cotswolds late last year, home to The Farmer’s Dog Pub where the two were spotted. The unusual pub is owned by English TV presenter and journalist Jeremy Clarkson.
“They hung out with [Clarkson’s partner, actress] Lisa Hogan and James Blunt, and The Corrs were performing at the pub,” a source told PEOPLE at the time DeGeneres showed up at the pub.
A California real estate insider tells PEOPLE that the couple sold their Carpinteria estate in August for $96 million.
