Ellie Goulding plans holiday with husband Caspar Jopling after shock new romance

ELLIE Goulding’s husband Caspar Jopling broke his silence on their divorce yesterday and said they are still close friends — amid claims they are even planning a family holiday.

The art dealer, 36, was kidnapped in London after photos of pop star Ellie kissing and hugging surf instructor Armando Perez were published yesterday.

Friends said Ellie was flying home to spend time with Caspar and their young son after a vacation in Costa Rica.

Caspar wrote on social media: “Ellie and I made the decision to separate some time ago.

“Our immediate family and close friends have known for some time – otherwise we have decided to do everything we can to keep this a secret.

“Ellie and I remain the closest of friends and, most importantly, we are ‘co-parents’ of the best child in the world.

“This is the last thing I want about this and please respect mine and Ellie’s privacy.”

Ellie, 37, will perform with DJ Calvin Harris at the Brit Awards next Saturday.

She said in a statement last night: “Caspar and I split up some time ago.

“We remain the closest of friends and are successful co-parents taking care of our son’s best interests.

“We are committed to protecting our family’s privacy and thank people in advance for respecting it.

“We will not comment further.”

Pals confirmed to The Sun yesterday that Ellie and Caspar had split after their marriage collapsed last summer.

A source said: “Ellie and Caspar are completely devoted to their little boy and are excellent parents.

“They haven’t been together for a while, but they’re still just as close.

“If they have time, they want to go on vacation with their little boy later this year.

“Caspar is fully supportive of Ellie’s career and will be cheering her on at the Brits with their son from home.

“It’s really important for Ellie and Caspar that they stay friends and that they’re both free agents who can see other people.

“They are both very mature about the situation and are carrying on as normal.”

Ellie and Caspar married in York Minster in August 2019, and the couple welcomed their son two years later.

The Sun first revealed the pair were spending time apart last summer, with Ellie striking up a friendship with former Tory MP Zac Goldsmith.

Yesterday, our photos showed Ellie looking happier than ever as she hung out with surf instructor Armando on a beach in Costa Rica.

Onlookers said: “Ellie and Armando seemed really cute.

“He was giving Ellie lessons. When he wasn’t teaching Ellie, he couldn’t keep his hands off her and pulled her into a hug and a kiss.”

He is expected to return to the UK next week before performing at London’s O2 Arena on March 2.

Ellie is nominated for song of the year with Calvin for Miracle.
